Does anyone have experience of Jet Tec/k (are they the same) with the Epson
R1800?

With a nice printer like that you should only use Epson ink.  Pigment ink of any source can be more problematic then dye ink.  I would not risk damage to my printer.  Besides I am sure you would like longer lasting higher quality prints.

I know is costs more but remember you do not have a Lexmark.
