Lexmark X73 - Have to re-boot every time
Posted by Fred on December 4th, 2004

Anyone had this problem with an X73 and no how to solve it without
rebooting?

I'm using this printer with Win98SE via USB. If I leave the printer
connected to the computer and then boot the computer, I get "user
intervention required" error when I try to print something.

The only way I have been able to get this printer to work is to (a) power
down PC and printer, then (b) unplug USB cable, then (c) power up PC, then,
at the desktop or later (d) power up the printer and (e) plug in the
printer.

I have contacted Lexmark ad nauseum and they alternately give me bad info
and "sorry Charlie, that's the way it is" responses.

Thanks in advance.
