- multiple printer connection query
- Posted by Mat on August 28th, 2003
Greetings
I have two printers and two laptops. I want to be able to use either printer
with either laptop but am unsure as to the best way to connect them. I had a
look in my local PC World and was rather confused by all the different hubs.
Can anyone suggest the simplest and possibly cheapest way to achieve my aim?
Secondly, one of the printers only has a USB port. If I was to use a
USB>parallel converter in order to utilise my old parallel switch box, would
I be sacrificing any of the printers functionality, other than speed?
Many thanks.

Connect each printer to each PC (especially the USB one, it needs a
host to work), ans set up a peer to peer network. You could get a
router with a print server, if you have a parallel printer.
