- Please recommend a printer model

I'm looking for a color inkjet printer to print tabloid size (11" x 17")
paper. I don't need photo quality but want to print brochures,
newsletters, and signs. The Epson 2200 doesn't seem to do well on
standard paper and the price is overkill. Which printers should I
consider?

The HP DeskJet 9300 series may meet your needs. See

for specifications.

In article <102gmuqon10mq94@corp.supernews.com>, bobh@proaxis.com says...
this use a single color ink cartridge? Would it not be cheaper per copy
to have independent ink cartridges so they can be replace individually?
Is there a comparable printer in features that has individual color ink
cartridges?

I know HP made a 2000 series that had separate inks and printheads. But
when the whole thing needed a refill and printheads, it was around $350,
about $150 less than the printer. It wasn't a large format printer though.
The new Canon i9990(?) coming out will have 8 separate colors and do large
format (13x19?). Costs around $500 but at least their ink will be cheaper
than either HP or Epson -- or so I hope. Their 24" width model is around
$3500.
