I tried it -- it worked! One of the cartridges had popped up a bit and
was not easily detectable.

Now when I try to print, it comes back with errmsgbox saying the printer
cable is not connected or not being able to send data to the printer.

Unless something corroded, I did not do anything to affect the cable.
I've tried unplugging and replugging the cable, so I wonder what else
could be a problem?

Thank you for your help,

JeffK.

Thank you for your response!

Your suggestion worked.

Now it gives me six beeps and won't print. This means (per the book)
that
a cartridge is not installed. I tried cleaning the contacts, putting in
a new print head for both sides, but nothing changes.

I am wondering if it is because splashed ink inside the printer is
gumming something up.

Any suggestions?

TIA,
JeffK.
