Re: Canon i850 and Photoshop 7 print problems

I managed to get PS7 to print just ONE photo that came out perfect and then
after that, it all reverted to the scenario you described. I simply cannot
get it to print WYSIWYG from photoshop 7 no matter what profiles or settings
I use in PS, though I can with the Canon supplied software.

This is ticking me off and I am about to take the printer back to Costco.
Canon support has nothing on the problem, as of yet. :-(

Thanks for replying, Bill. At least you've set my mind at rest that it's not
just something stupid on my part. I've posted the question on various NG's
etc., and if I find anything useful I'll let you know through this NG. My
E-mail address as shown on this NG is spurious, as I'm trying to keep the
spam down to less than 100 per day!

Dave

When I first tried to print in Paint Shop Pro my prints were terrible.
As if I had selected find edges for the photo. I found the problem was
in the canon software. In Paint Shop Pro click on file. Then click on
printer setup. Then click on options. In the canon software click on
effects tab. Check if the simulate illistration is checked. If it is
uncheck it. Then click apply and close the window. Now try printing
the photo. Should be much better. For some reason this setting is
checked whenever I start a new session. I don't have photo shop but
the problem I was having sounds like yours. Good Luck.

Joe,
Thanks for the info. Now I don't have to uncheck this option each
time.
Do you suppose that option is checked on all initial installations of
the canon software? It is a real bummer when your favorite photo
software won't print a decent photo and there isn't a clue as to what
is wrong. Again, thanks for the information.
