I have an Officejet 7310 which I use via a 10/100Mbs LAN. Mostly it
works fine but when I use the HP Director 'Send a Fax' software some
functions are incredibly slow, that is the screen response rather than
the operation.
For example if I ask to see the Fax log it takes a minute or so to
appear and then if I click on one of the entries in the FAX log it
will be half a minute or so before the entry is highlighted. Similarly
when I then try and resend the fax, there is a long delay before
sending starts.
As long as I'm patient it does work but it's a bit painful to use to
say the least.
It's not hogging the processor as far as I can see using task manager,
it's just the 'Send a Fax' program itself hanging. If you run Task
Manager the various bits of HP Director show 'Not Responding' for
quite a lot of the time when this slow response is happening.
Has anyone else seen this problem and/or can anyone suggest a fix?
