- why is brother toner cheaper than others (e.g. QMS, HP)?
- Posted by peter on October 22nd, 2003
I'm shopping for a laser printer and am trying to minimize operating cost.
The brother 1440 printer uses a TN-430 toner cartridge which sells for $30-$50.
A minolta/QMS 1250W pagepro toner sells for $80 to $90.
Both says the yield is 3000 pages at 5% coverage.
Other toners seen at office stores typically sell for $65.
Why is the brother one cheaper? Does it cut corners somewhere?
