- Searching for a GUI for Subversion... or another CVS system with GUI
- Posted by ruherflo@gmail.com on May 20th, 2006
Hi
Yesterday I installed a copy of Subversion. It seems to me a very
useful and fantastic program for controlling versions of software.
But I'm a windows user and unfortunately I 'm used to user-friendly
interfaces. Then I would like Subversion has a user-friendly GUI
Am I asking for too much? Is there any GUI for Subversion?
Is there any other similar program with GUI, with user-friendly
interface?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help

Me too. For example, I like to get the latest version of the source and run
a test batch on it, all out of one script. Then I can put lots of various
commands in the script.
So I like to learn how that user-friendly command line works. For Perforce
(a Subversion competitor), the command line would be something like this:
p4 sync //depot/myProject/...
After I learn how that works, then I put it inside a user-friendly script.
The script can do any number of mindless tasks from the command line. And
the script can trigger and run automatically each time the version
controller's codebase changes.
So this is a lot more user-friendly than clicking on the same damned context
menu in the MS Windows Explorer, every morning.
