Hi,
Not my first choice on how to do it but here's the story.
In a workplace environment, we have a network with a Linksys wireless router
and a linksys 8 port switch. Everything works fine and this is how we want
it set up. The network was fed by a DSL modem provided by our ISP.
Now we're switching to a cable provider (Comcast) who has provided us with a
SMC 8014 Modem/Router combo box.
If we connect the device and plug it into the router we will of course have
2 routers on the network passing out IPs and this will cause all sorts of
problems.
The question is - if I disable DHCP on the SMC router will this eliminate
the problem and allow us to use the device as a modem only? Or is there
another or other problems still lingering with this setup?
Thanks for the advice.
