Newbie question - Cisco Catalyst 2950
Posted by cdub@newsguy.com on July 20th, 2003

I'm pretty new to this so I'm hoping that my question and the answer
to my problem are simple... The other night we lost power for a while
and the next morning, several ports on our 2950 switch were down. I've
tried to re-enable them by using shutdown/no shutdown but nothing has
worked. They are not administratively down either. Is there
something else I should try or could they have actually become damaged
when the we lost power? The ports are not all set to the same
speed/duplex and I've tried changing it back to auto. Any help would
be greatly appreciated as there is no one in the company to ask and we
don't have Cisco support. TIA

Hi there,
I had this problem before. Reloading the flash should resolve the problem.
Hope it helps.
