- reverse telnet / 2960
- Posted by dt1649651@yahoo.com on September 19th, 2007
I have a 2509 as a controller to access all the devices. It works with
other devices ( from old 26xx,36xx to newer 28xx and ASA55xx ) but I
cannot not use it with the switch 2960. And I can access the 2960 via
the Cisco serial cable from my notebook. The 2960 configuration for
console is empty, like others.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've just been doing exactly this today, no problem.
Sorry to state the obvious, but have you checked the following?
- the 2509's port does not have some unusual settings (speed etc)
- the 2509's port permits reverse telnet
- the line from the 2509 is not somehow broken (try another)?
HTH...
