- Saving a PIX Config
- Posted by Kirk Goins on May 2nd, 2004
I know how to save a config via TFTP or capturing the wri term screens,
but those don't save the passwords that are displayed as ***** vs the
encryption characters like skfjhfhagsdg or whatever.
Is there a way to get the image out of flash so I can keep a fully
functional backup should I ever need to restore a confin with passwords
and all?
Thanks

Program ended abnormally on 01/05/2004 23:12, Due to a catastrophic Kirk Goins
error:
Yes it does. Saving the config via tftp or even screen capture will save the
passwords in a form that can be reused later.
If you have one of the bigger PIX that have a diskette drive, you can "write
floppy".

Not screen capture -- screen capture is going to get the *'s that
are shown in place of isakmp shared keys and 'vpdn username USER password'
passwords.
