- Backlight Compensation
- Posted by Neil on April 24th, 2008
I have the Epson V500 Scanner. Does Epson's Backlight Compensation do
anything different than Adobe Photoshop's Image Adjustments? I'm
experimenting with different settings in both applications before
starting a large slide scanning project. It would be great to have
settings in Epson's Scanning Software that I just leave checked for
every scan, but I don't know if they are that automatic -- that is,
only applying what is needed, if anything at all. Thanks for your
advice.

After I posted my question, I continued experimenting and reading
other posts and websites relating to slide scanning, and I've finally
come to the conclusion that there is no easy way. Know what the
different applications' tools do (start by setting the scanner's
software to get the best initial scan), and work on one slide at a
time.
