I recently had to abandon a Visioneer 8920 scanner and replace it with a
9220. The 8920 came with Paperport 7.0 Deluxe software which had
Formtyper in it. The 9220 came with Paperport 8.0 SE edition( No
formtyper). I want formtyper . Can I install the version 7 with this
scanner and have it work and if so what would be the correct procedure
to install it to make the scanner work with it.
Any help would be appreciated before I mess something up.

I don't see why not. The PaperPort software should not be specific to the
scanner.
You also may be able to get updates from Scansoft.com.
