- HP ScanJet 4670 for scanning slides
- Posted by Samakimou on November 11th, 2003
Hi
Has anyone any experience with slide or negative scanning with HP's
new ScanJet 4670? Is the quality OK (compared to traditional slide
scanners, not flatbed ones)? Judging at the claimed resolution the
results should not be bad.
cheers and thanks for any input
Sam

yep - I have one.
Can't get the slide/negative to work. The slide scanner's plug (that
plugs into the scanner) is very loose - I have to wiggle it around to
get the slider scanner's light to come on. And it won't stay on.
I can make only one or two scans before the computer sees a problem.
Then I have to re_install the hp software.

First off, I AM an HP supporter all the way. I own and love my HP
Photosmart printer and have owned several HP Scanners. I did receive the
4670 for Christmas this year and was very disappointed with the adapter.
Very entry level, if you want any kind of quality I say have them
professionally scanned or put out a little extra cash and go with a
dedicated scanner for film and slides. The scanner itself is great. I did
return it though, I just wansnt happy with it, I got a 3970 instead and it
does have the adapter built in. Its not too bad. specs on the scanners are
exactly the same, only real diff is the 4670 looks cool and saves space.
