- HP ScanJet 5300C - Out Of Memory Error

Hello,
HP ScanJet 5300C ... USB
Red Hat Linux 7.2 + Ximian Gnome
Xsane ... avision.conf (driver)
Xsane correctly detects the scanner but no matter what dpi setting or
image type (color, B&W, line art, etc.) I use I get nothing but "Failed
to start scanner: out of memory" error.
Got clue?
