Minolta 5400 II & USB 1.1/2. 0interface & speed
Posted by fiatuni on September 17th, 2005

Hi,

I've just recevived my 5400 II and the speed is very slow when i'm on
the net (USB modem). Plugged out the modem the speed is surely best.

I'm to buy an USB 2.0 adpater card. Does the speed will really get
faster as i guees it ?

possibly do that more than once, if bus speed isn't enough.

I also have USB 1.1 and scanning wide areas, or scanning at 16 bpc, is a
pain.

ICE when it is activated consumes, it much more CPU than USB 1.1 bandwidth
on my AMD 1800+

It should for ICE scans. I use Firewire (5400) and it is much faster
than the USB [1.0] interface for ICE. For non-ICE, probably no great
difference.
