newbie question

I've just got my first scanner - Epson 2580 -and am wondering about
scanning odd things like leaves, Kiwi fruit - messy things like that.
Is this possible? If so, how? The manual doesn't cover that kind of
stuff.

TIA Alan.

In article <vbnvd15kur6dhm8a2dgl5s0l0nil2vg8t6@4ax.com>,
amwalker3@tiscali.co.uk says...
It should not be any problem, so long as you dont allow any fluid
(nor any cleaning liquid either) to run under the housing at the edges
of the glass bed. Such liquid under the edges can cause damage to the
scanner, but it wont hurt the glass, assuming you are careful not to
scratch the glass, and dont use acids that could etch the glass.
