Problem with PaperPort program
Posted by JA on April 3rd, 2008

Hello everybody,

I have been using the Visioneer One Touch 8700 scaner with the
PaperPort 7.02 Deluxe program for years. Up to now everything was OK.
Suddenly in the Scan Info window located in the lower left hand corner
of the One Touch Visioneer Scan Manager Pro I got a red box with X
and according to the help it appears if the file size exceeds available hard
disk space.
But it is not true - the available space on all my partitions is surely enough.
For example now it is showing: Image Size: 2,83 MByte, Free Space 0kByte.
The image size changes depending on what I scan, the Free Space is equal
to 0 all the time.
At the moment I can scan anything using default parameters only.
When I try to change the parameters I get the following information:
ScanManager Problem
An unknown error has occurred.
The program has encountered an unknown error with the selected settings.
Reset the selected parameters and try again.

Scanning with default parametrs gives very low quality results.

I unstalled the PaperPort program and install it from the beginning but
it didn't help.

Please tell me how to get rid of the problem.

Regards
JA

Try clearing/deleting your Temporary Internet Files out. (Internet
Options, General tab)

If you have a CD or DVD burner burn some CDs of the little used data on your
hard drive. Verifiy that the CD/DVD data is good, then delete those files
from your hard drive.

That will free up about 650 Megabytes if a CD and 4.7 Gigabytes if a DVD.

Do not delete any files or folders in the Program Files folder or in the
Windows folder.
