I have been driven crazy trying to get my HP 5370c scanner to work with
its HP software version 3.2.1. I am using Mac OS X 10.3.2 on a G4 dual
processor 450.
The HP software became unreliable when I was using OS 10.2.x. I would
launch the scanner software (HP PrecisionScan Pro) and would get an
error message about "Scanner could not be initialized. Scanner not found."
If I re-booted, the software would would initialize the scanner, but
after a while it would revert to the error message.
There are two other little apps in the HP Scanning folder, HP Scanjet
Manager and HP Scanjet Controls. I think that one or both of them is
supposed to be inside another folder, like a Library folder, instead of
in the Applications folder. Does anyone know if that is the case, and if
so, where do these apps belong?
The HP Scanjet Controls app is supposed to make the buttons on the
scanner work to launch the appropriate apps, like copy to printer, or
scan. I don't know what HP Scanjet manager is supposed to do.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
