I've replaced my Astra UMAX 1220U scanner with a Canon LIDE 30
scanner. The Canon software has nothing as useful as Vistascan and
the Copy Utility that came with the Umax. Does anyone know of similar
software which works with the Canon?

In particular the Copy Utility has the ability to magnify/demagnify
the scanned output. With Vistascan, you can select the area to be
scanned, preview it and then scan.
