- Scanning & Editing - Documents & Forms
- Posted by Russell on July 11th, 2003
Hi,
I run a small business and I use a lot of standard documents and
forms. Examples are filling in names, addresses, DOB and so on. Yet
to do this now I must use a typewriter. Does anyone know of software
that is available, so that I could scan in a document. Then I can go
back each time and type in current information as needed. Thank
you...

There is a software called OmniForm that can convert printed forms to
editable form. It can also create new forms.

The cheapest place to buy OmniForm 5.0. Be sure to read Wayne's information
at the bottom of this page.

Other than that, you could create Html forms that could be used for filling
in predetermined forms. Microsoft Word 2000 or 2002 (XP) can create and edit
HTML forms.
Microsoft Excel can also create a usable fill-in the blank type of form.

olmuknmyer@aol.com says...
For just filing in scanned forms at the keyboard, PaperPort has a
FormTyper option that does this.
"FormTyper® automatically recognizes the fields on a scanned form.
Simply tab and type in PaperPort to neatly fill all in the information.
Print the filled-in form and PaperPort automatically saves an electronic
copy for your records."

The best thing you can do is using Fine Reader from Abby.
