Using an USB==>SCSI Converter With My Epson Expression 636 Professional?
Posted by maria on July 16th, 2005

Well, I paid around $1,300 when I bought my Epson Expression 636
Professional SCSI-scanner. which it is still working fine. I would
like to know if it is possible to make it work with a USB-->SCSI
converter. Adaptec, for example, makes such an interface.
I am using Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 8400 machine.
Thank you very much.

software does not know about USB for this model).

However you can get PCI Adaptec SCSI cards on EBay that will work in Windows
XP.
For Windows XP you also have to install ASPI from Adaptec, because Windows
XP does not have an ASPI layer.

You also have to update the software for the Epson Expression 636 to Windows
XP compatible software.

There is not a Windows XP driver for this scanner, but try the TWAIN Driver
v3.42A for Windows 2000, it may work in Windows XP.
