Vuescan in copy mode problem
Posted by louise on July 9th, 2003

I posted before but in re-reading my post I realized I
wasn't clear.

When I use Vuescan to copy to printer - to make a plain
copy, an extra inch is added to the top margin when it is
printed. This does not show up on the preview so I can't
adjust or crop accordingly, but the actual copy always
starts about 1 inch further down on the actual printed page
(using an HP Laserjet 1100).

I've tried using 8 1/2 x 11 and I've tried using "auto" -
the same thing happens.

Any ideas?

TIA

Louise

In article <beg9pn$75s$1@ngspool-d02.news.aol.com>,
usenet@hamrick.com says...

The "problem" seems to be that it just drops down from the
top - it does not center on the page - when making a copy.
The bottom is completely flush to the bottom and maybe even
1/8" to 1/4" has been cut off the bottom, while the top is
dropped down one inch.

The actual text is slightly vertically compressed
apparently to compensate for this extra inch on top. It's
as if Vuescan has brought the font size down a little, or
made the copy less than 100% of the original.

I suspect a setting is "mis-set" but which one? Might it
be something in preferences?

TIA

Louise

You might check the margin settings on your default
print setup.

You might also check that you have the correct paper size
set up (i.e. 8.5 x 11 vs. A4).
