- Vuescan does not work with Panther and Epson 3200
- Posted by Martin Kr?ger on November 3rd, 2003
Hello
Since the upgrade from Jaguar to Panther (OSX 10.3), Vuescan does not
recognizes my Epson Perfection 3200 Photo anymore. The scanner is
connected via firewire. The system profiler lists the scanner as "G"
(yes, simply a single letter), Modell "G" and Manufacturer "E".
The scanner works with the original epson software/drivers.
If I try to to do a preview from within vuescan, the message is "No
input found"...
Is it "normal" that the system profiler lists the scanner with such
"cryptic letters"?
Thanks for any hints,
Martin

You might try renaming:
/Library/Image Capture/Devices/EPSON Scanner
to:
/Library/Image Capture/Devices/Save EPSON Scanner
and then rebooting your computer. I think this is
grabbing the scanner and not letting VueScan talk to it.

Hello
The folder /Library/Image Capture/Devices was already empty - I don't
have a file or subdirectory "EPSON Scanner" there...
