Does anyone know if and or when Vuescan will support the new Nikon Coolscan
5000 film scanner?

Yes. See <http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/vuescan.htm#supported>. Look
under "USB Film Scanners."

Maybe I'm just missing something. Hamrick's lists the LS-5000 as supported
but not the supercool scan, so I just assumed that was a different model.
Also, when I tried the Vuescan demo with the scanner attached it did not find
it. Thanks for the response just the same, I'll keep poking around.
