Speaking of incompetence, the most incompetent "programmer" I have
ever seen is Ed. It seems he can't even do the simplest of things
these days.
Like faking these messages. Here's one slip-up:

You mean, from *him* (Ed). You're pretending to write this as fake

Only Ed would write: "from me"!

This isn't very impressive. You guys apparently aren't capable of
copying each other's syntax, making this ruse pointless. Just faking
headers isn't enough.

Ed wasn't "chased away by angry Vuescan users", he despises
me and declined to have anything to do with me.

It's quite easy for anyone to e-mail Mendel and ask him
by e-mail if Ed has blacklisted him. He'll admit to
anyone who asks that Ed answers all his e-mails quite
nicely and politely.

Bart doesn't forge e-mails, only I do.
I regularly use phoney.email at yahoo dot com, Joe.Nanaimo at hotmail dot
com
and goldenlasky at hotmail dot com as forged identies. It's really quite
sad
and pathetic, but that's me.
Now I forge postings from Bart van der Wolf, Ed Hamrick, and
Ralf Radermacher in the mistaken impression that one of them is
actually me. Nope.

obnoxious, ignorant asshole. Anyone reading this thread would agree.

There was no slip-up - I'm just an asshole responding
to my own forged postings. Is anyone even interested
in my rantings any more?

Yes, Ed Hamrick has one of the most-downloaded
applications on versiontracker.com (more than a million downloads),
has won awards from MacWorld, and keeps getting excellent
magazine reviews.
You can download his excellent VueScan application from:
http://www.hamrick.com/
I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I couldn't agree more, Roger. But apparently Ed and Bart are out of
control. After all, it was them who started all this faking and now
that they dug a hole they don't know how to get out of it but just
continue to make matter worse.
It also speaks volumes that Ed would participate in such nonsense,
either directly (by faking messages) or indirectly (by, allegedly,
providing his server log information, etc).
This makes Ed criminally liable and it ties his hands. That, together
with the fact they started this message faking in the first place,
closes all legal avenues for them since going after Don's real
identity would also expose their's, as well as Ed's support.
Not to mention Don never did anything wrong! He only stated a few
simple, objective facts.
So, they lost before all this even began. And they're just making
things worse for themselves by being out of control.
Don.

Not to change the subject but I found another major bug in Vuescan. It
doesn't even start anymore but crashes my whole system!?
I'm afraid to run it again because I fear it will wipe out my hard
disk. What's going on with Vuescan?

That's correct. Vuescan is not a serious program. As Don says it's
riddled with bugs. I'll append a short assortment.
As you can see there I myself have complained many times.

That's right! Ed actively supports all this by providing me with his
server logs.
The trouble is no matter what we do Don always comes out on top.
It's infuriating.
And all along he stays so calm! Maybe because he has nothing to lose,
while we have staked our reputation when we started all this.
Not much left of our reputation now, though... :-(

Actually he loves you (the fake Don). That's why he, allegedly, gives
you his server logs when he's not faking messages himself.
But Ed does despise the real Don ever since he calmly proved to Ed why
individual RGB Analog Gain was essential.
After insisting for years individual RGB was not needed, Ed had no
choice but to implement it after Don, the real one, proved the need
for it beyond any doubt.
Prior to that I have sheepishly been asking Ed for individual RGB for
years, but he would just snarl "You don't need that". Don proved you
do need it, and Ed has hated him ever since.

Hey, Real Don,
Since you never take part in flame-wars and ad-hominems, will you agree
to unilaterally stop feeding the other trolls by posting under fake
names? The S/N ratio of this site is plummeting. It doesn't matter
who started it.
