What is Vuescan 64 bit RGBi used for?
Posted by Robert A on February 22nd, 2004

What is this setting in the Input tab of Vuescan used for? I have a Canon
FS4000, and I thought I could get infrared cleaning w/o using it.

Thanks,
Robert A

This setting must be used for Infrared Clean function.
The "I" includes the Infrared channel.

If Infrared Clean is set to Medium, but the Input Tab is set to something
other than 64 bit, it won't work? That hasn't been my experience.

I'm still way back on VueScan versions, but I believe somewhere along the
line Ed programmed it so that if you activate IR Clean, 64bit RGBI mode
is involked automatically, even if you haven't checked it.

Obviously must be the case if you are indeed getting IR Cleaning
function.

I assume someone else will confirm.
