What's that stripe doing in my pictures?
Posted by N Miller on July 3rd, 2005

I run an Epson 2450 Photo. I've recently been getting a black stripe
with b&w negs and a white stripe with color transparencies. 120 film in
all cases.

Does anyone have a clue?

Is it a narrow or a wide stripe? If you could post a small
(non-resized) 2400 PPI sample image, it might help in determining the
cause.

It could be dust on the inside calibration patch, which would require
dismantling the scanner to correct it, but let's make sure first if it
is what I suspect it is.

When you wrote 'dust' I thought that maybe a thorough cleaning might
help. It did! Problem solved. Thanks.
