- access denied administrator owner
- Posted by Wayne on December 27th, 2007
A friend has XP Pro and has gotten a trojan. I am trying to delete the file.
I went into contol panel and unchecked the box for simple file sharing. I
then went into safe mode as administrator and tried to delete the file. I
got an access denied warning. I went into properties, security, owner and
was given a warning that I could view the owner but not change it.
All other files in the system32 folder had the owner shown as:
administrators/computername/administrators
administrator/computername/administrator
This particular file only showed
administrators/computername/administrators
Shouldn't I as administrator be able to change the ownership on any file?
