I never set one when I set up my computer, now I am being asked for one and
have NO idea what it would be. Any ideas before I give Bill another chunk of
change? THANKS!!!!!

Connecting over a network or logging into the computer?
Connecting over a network, add a user to the XP machine using the same
username and password used to log into the "other" machine and give this
user permission to use the shared file.
Logging into the computer? Try logging in with a blank password or see:

If you didn't specify one, there there isn't one. It was left blank. So
what happens when you leave the password blank?
