How do I script the creation of a wireless preferred network
Posted by Danny Russell on January 4th, 2006

We have implemented a solution for a certain project whereby we create a
peer-to-peer wireless network connection on each laptop, and set this as an
automatic preferred network. This has worked well in trials but I need to be
able to automate/script this set up so that it can be added to our "Standard
Build". This will go on 3000 machines so therefore a manual implementation is
not feasible.

I cannot find any information on how to script or "import" these settings in
an automated deployment process. I have also ran snapshot tools to check and
see if this info is stored in the registry but to no avail. Can anyone help
me on this, or even point me in the right direction? I would be very
appreciative of any assistance you could offer me.

I look forward to your responses,

Regards,

Thanks for your response, but I'm not asking how to script as I know this
already, I'm asking if anyone knows specifically how to script or command
line the creation of a Wireless Preferred Network in Windows XP.

Anyone help?
