My daughter is leaving for college soon. She has a laptop and desktop
(both XP home). would like to keep her documents synced. Both
devices will be connected to the university LAN, PC wired, laptop
wireless.

For speed and security, I was considering buying a USB crossover cable
to direct connect to the two. Will this enhance security?
Recommended software to do the sync? Any folders that should NOT be
synced?
