Local profile isn't loading for new account
Posted by J.B. on October 6th, 2005

Dear Microsoft users and employees,

Each time I try to log on windows says that it can not log on due to not
being able to load the local profile.

I created a new account with the "new user" funcationality in the computer
management console. After creating the account I copied the Guest account
profile to the directory I created for the user. I tried creating this
directory in multiple places: 1) on a separate partition for data purposes 2)
on the Windows partition where some othe profile information is stored. Both
of these didn't work.

It first searches for the network profile, but I don't have a windows server
anyway. (I just want a local profile.)

I'm sorry for my lack of knowledge in creating accounts with Windows. I had
no idea it would be so difficult. I created the other accounts when I loaded
XP initially. (When it asks which users will be on the system during system
setup)

HELP!!!
