- Logon welcome screen, displaying users
- Posted by Mke Edwards on February 20th, 2006
I've got several user accounts on my system, and I have one setup up for all
my friends to use just so they can screw around without messing my stuff up.
In the past, I used a logon message that would tell them what user name and
password to use just so they wouldn't have to ask me all the time. That idea
didn't seem to work because they press enter without reading the screen, and
still ask me what name to put in the box.
I've resorted to using the "Welcome" screen that shows all the user
accounts. My question is: is there a way to inhibit certain user names from
showing up on the welcome screen?? Take the admin account, for example... it
doesn't show up but if I want to use it, I hit ctrl-alt-del twice and the
normal logon screen appears where I can type it in.
Thanks

Dowload, install and use the Microsoft Powertoy for Windows XP called
"TweakUI".
Google or Microsoft Webv Page search for it - you'll find it.
Go through the settings, particularly those for logon.
