I'm an Access developer and on a volunteer basis I have a system at a
notforprofit. I have very little background in passwords/security,
etc....always having worked at large corporations where there were technical
people who handled this area. The person at the notforprofit responsible for
this is too busy to resolve my problem. There are 13 users connected via a
frontend Access db to a backend db located on a 'server' pc. When I make
changes to the frontend, I need to go around to each of the 13 pcs and copy
the updated db. On most of them, when I log in as Administrator (I do not
know the individual user passwords) and copy the changed db, everything works
ok, i.e, when the users open the frontend they can access the backend just
fine. On a few of the pcs, when the users open the frontend db they get a
'read only' message. In reality, they can go ahead and make changes,
however, I'd like to get rid of the message. How do I do this?
Also, it would be more convenient for me to sit at one pc and copy the
updated db to all the user pcs rather than going from office to office. Is
there any way to do this?
