Roaming Mandatory Profiles
Posted by Oni on January 23rd, 2006

I'm trying to create a roaming mandatory profile on 1 of my 2 XP Pro
machines, both machines are in the same WORKGROUP.
I copied the profile in question to a new folder that I created in Documents
and Settings, then updated the profile with the profile path and changed the
ntuser.dat file to .man. When I log in with the profile on my second machine
the desktop wallpaper has changed color to blue and the settings I've
implemented in Local group policies don't apply.

I'm stuck any help would be greatly appreciated

Roaming profiles require a domain server.

As the other reply stated, roaming profiles require a domain. You can't use
roaming profiles or mandatory roaming profiles in a workgroup.

I now found a way to log on to PC-2 within a workgroup using a profile stored
on PC-1.
I'll post back later.
