Software Restriction Policies
Posted by Jakem Schott on November 22nd, 2005

Hello Everyone

I am using Windows XP Professional and have enabled software restriction
policies, as I wanted to see if if it was a suitable tool to implement in my
current working environment. I now no longer wish to use software
restricition policies is there a way I can turn this feature off again or
disable it

Thank You

Jake

If you applied it via Group Policy at the domain or Organizational Unit
level then you can delete the additional rules you created, reconfigure the
default security level to unrestricted or unlink the GPO that is applying
the settings to the user or computer depending on where the policy is being
applied - user or computer configuration. If you are unsure of the GPO that
is applying the settings run rsop.msc on one of the domain computers to see
a report of user and computer configuration settings and the GPO that
applied the particular setting. --- Steve
