- Unable to save certain file types to network share
- Posted by mikerigel on April 13th, 2006
While logged in as the end user, I can create and save WordPad documents to
the network share but I can't create and save changes to a Word document on
the same share. Error reads: (The disk is full or too many files are open."
I can logon to the network with administrator priviledges and create and save
WordPad and Word files to the same share ok. As a test I added the user to
the domain admin group and she could save to the share fine. I remove the
user from the admin group and made sure she had full NTFS permissions to the
folder & file but no-save problem persists. I created a new Test folder
shared to Everyone and full NT permissions and the problem persists.
I'm using Windows Server 2003. What am I missing?
Thanks,
Mike

I suggest you post in the appropriate Word or Office newsgroup. It might
have something to do with the way Word uses temporary files such as the user
does not have sufficient permissions to create the temporary file which may
be on the users computer. --- Steve
