Hi everyone,
We're in the midst right now of re-imaging our classrooms for the Spring
semester. We just deployed roaming profiles for our students last semester
to great success. As part of last semester's image, we customized the
default profile and set it according to Microsoft specifications for use with
roaming profiles. No problems reported and the desired results were achieved
(alphabetical start menu, clear desktop, clear recent documents, etc.).
Fast forward to this semester. If an account with a previously established
roaming profile logs into one of the systems with our new image (and
similarly configured appearance of default profile), the start menu is out of
alphabetical order with programs that were added to the image being at the
bottom of list, along with a random selection of other programs that had been
in last semester's image. If I clear out the roaming profile, and log in
then, I get the default profile and everything looks peachy.
What can I do to keep things in alphabetical order for all users? I haven't
had any luck with this key: HKCU\Software\MS\Windows\Current
Version\Explorer\Menu Order\Start Menu2\Programs and deleting the "order" key
to force alphabetical order. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Adam
