Celeron and Sierra 555 incompatibility
Posted by charlybrown on April 14th, 2008

Hello, I work in a company wich havs lots of laptops, some of them
with celerom microprocessors; we use Sierra 555 Aircard to provide
access to the Internet and because of some administrative issues, we
can't upgrade to Sierra 580 or any other EVDO wireless card, as well
as we need to keepusing the Celeron laptops. The first time we
installed the 555 Aircard in the celerom laptops (when they came new
from factory) we hsdn't any trouble; however, when we restored the
laptops or formated it, it has been imposible to reinstall the 555
Aircard, because the highest IRQ available is 13 and the card need
that the IRQ to be above 15. This behaviour is consistent with laptops
with celeron microprocessor, in Toshiba, Hp or Compaq laptops. Does
anybody has an idea about how to deal with it?
