Deploy XP via USB
Posted by lachlan.sutherland@gmail.com on October 5th, 2005

Salutations!

I'm trying to find a way to deploy XP Embedded using a USB stick (thumb
drive). Currently we are using the HP USB boot utility and restoring a
Ghost image to do this but it takes really long and we need a quiker
method. What would be nice is to boot to USB then simply format the
drive, then xcopy the files over and then we're done. But when I boot
to the USB I can't see my HD only my USB drive (desginated C I figure
theres gotta be a way to edit config.sys to see the internal HD but
don't know of it.

This is for mass deployment of an image on to several tablets (all the
licensing is in place). If anybody can think of an efficent way to do
this please let me know as I can seem to think of an easier method then
using a USB drive.

Thanks,

lachlan
