Force new XP start menu using Group Policy ?
Posted by howardmp on January 12th, 2006

Hello all,
I'm trying to set a policy which will force our user base to use the new XP
Start menu style, the setting I've found is "Force classic start menu =
Disabled", the description suggests that it should do what I want but I'm
finding users are able to change back to the classic and their change remains
in place even after logoff/logon. All other settings in the policy are
working as expected. We are AD W2k domain, XP SP2 clients being rolled out.
This is happening with any users regardless of their rights.
I've tried other forums with no success so any advice appreicated.
Many thanks
Howard

Hello again,
No responses, haven't had positive replies any on other forums either!. Does
anybody from Microsoft ever read these forums ?, it seems that you have a
policy which as described would do exactly what I need but I can't find
anyone who has ever managed to get it working, is this a bug ?
thanks
Howard
