- Headless xp crashes
- Posted by BarbaraJ on April 17th, 2006
Hi!
I've got now 3 computers, but only a 2 ports KMV switch. The oldest
computer (an XP pro like the others) acts only as webserver and
fileserver and I would like to run it headless. But each time I
disconnect the monitor, I have a freeze with the message "the ati
driver has ceased to function properly, please restart the computer".
I've tried tightVNC but nope.
Please don't tell me that I need XP Embedded, because I just want to
avoid reinstalling this old and slow machine. I've read somewhere in
the net that there's actually people running xp headless with Remote
Desktop, but nobody say how.
Thank you for any suggestion!
Barbara

Hey, now with Remote Desktop the old machine seems happy even without
monitor.
