That would cause that.
As for moving your install - not easily/reliably - nor with any confidence
what-so-ever actually.
If it is fresh enough - it would be easier (and better for you in the long
run) to disconnect all devices other than the hard drive you want to install
on and the CD drive and install Windows XP again before reconnecting all the
other items.
