- I moved my old hard drive to a new computer, need to reactivate

I moved the hard drive from my old computer to my new computer and, upon
installation of the old hard drive and attempting to login to Windows XP, I
was told to activate my WindowsXP Home OS. I attemted to do so by internet,
but my ethernet drivers apparently weren't working with the new hardware yet.
So I called the toll free number to get my activation key. After reaching
the automated system at the other end of the phone, I vocally gave my 9-line,
54-digit product ID number, as requested. I was then told by the automated
system that my product ID was not a valid product ID.
What should I do to get my Windows XP Home OS (originally installed OEM from
manufacturer on my old hard drive, now moved to the new computer on the same
old hard drive) activated on my new computer?

An OEM version of Windows XP cannot be transferred to
a different computer. That is why your licensed was deemed invalid.
You'll need to purchase a new "Full Version" of Windows XP
and perform a "Repair Install".

Thanks Carey, that's exactly what I needed to know! Looks like I'll be
shelling out the big bucks for a new Windows XP OS. Oh well.
