- New PATA HD is not recognized by Bios
- Posted by HsebaF on October 4th, 2005
I installed a new PATA hd because my SATA hd was damaged. The problem
that now my bios does not recognize the new hd. the computer runs
fine, but everytime I turn it on it tells me that I have 0 devices on
my primary master. Then it gives my a choice of F1 to continue and F2
to go to setup. In my bios, under primary master I have "unknown
device" and there is no other choice for me to select. The hd came
with a cd and I intalled it and everything but it doesn't seem to work.
What can I do???

Contact the manufacturer of your new hard drive and request
installation support assistance. Also, their support web site may
have some installation troubleshooting suggestions.
