BIOS 1009 was released on 2005/09/20, but no PXE ROM update. Still 201.0440.
I hope they won't forget us ! :-/

Don't worry, it'll come. I was't expecting it so soon anyway.

I know they're very busy. If it takes too long, I'll contact them again. In
the meantime we'll have to be patient.

A little update from Asus:

"I’m really sorry for the pending.

Since the south bridge of nForce3 is different from nForce4, our RD
requested the new specific PXE option ROM from NVIDIA.

Till now they haven’t got it.

I’ll push again to make the new Bios ready and update you as soon as
possible."

Thanks for the update Jos !

Another update: I recieved a beta BIOS yesterday. I'm going to test it
tomorrow if I have the time. I'll let you know on my findings.

If it works, Asus will create a final release.

Strange... Before I wanted to test the beta BIOS (1009.003) I tried it with
BIOS 1009 and what do you know... it works!

I can now PXE boot from this board without any problems and install the OS
on it. They must have changed something somewhere. Or the revision I have is
somewhat different. I don't know atm.

Another strange thing is that I now have some problems with the A8N Sli
(nForce4) again. Perhaps they also changed something in the latest BIOS of
this board, because it was working fine before. Now I have to use a seperate
PCI LAN card to install my OS from.

I'll get into it when I have the time. You should be ok though. It should
work with your board.

Kind regards,
Jos

Jos, thanks a lot for this update !
I've sent one of these K8N boxes to my hardware vendor for repair,
so I will try this soon (next wekk, I believe).

I have another issue concerning the SATA drivers, but it needs a
new thread I guess !

Best regards
Arnaud
