- Repairing XP

I am repairing XP, but I don't have the product key, I do have the original
CD. What can I do to proceed?

You could try selecting recovery instead of install xp-repair this copy,in
recovery,
select 1 for disk C:,press enter for password,then type:CHKDSK C: /R When
its thru type:EXIT Let xp start up.For a lost product key try contacting
microsoft,
800 936 5800

Sounds like you have already stated the Repair procedure, if so you have
very few options.
1. If it is a retail version and you have proof of purchase, you can contact
Microsoft and possibly get a new PK.
2. If OEM you will need to contact the vendor that built the Computer, or
where you purchased it. It is unlikely you will be able to get a
replacement.
3. Find the PK.
4. Purchase a new copy.
